Miss USA: Hate speech?

We obviously don't live in times that are ridiculous enough that all of us should be locked in the nut house. Yet. Miss California USA was asked her OPINION about gay marriage and said, IN HER OPINION, that marriage is between a man and a woman. Measures currently under consideration in Congressional seats across the country could allow the voicing of opinions such as hers to be considered hate speech and, therefore, make it a crime to speak out against gay union. Do not mistake what I am saying: I could care less if LGBTQs want to marry. If they do, let 'em. I couldn't give a rosy rat turd less. It's none of my, OR YOUR, business anyhow. But, when we are asked for an opinion and we give that opinion, it should not, under any circumstances, be considered a crime. When we allow any First Amendment encroachment, then we've allowed too much. As long as the things we say are not to purposely incite a riot or violence or sedition against the government (looking at YOU, Trump, ReTrumplicans, and right-wing media), then it should be protected. PERIOD. Any elected official who says otherwise and wants to see it in the form of a law should be ridden out of town on a rail AFTER he or she has been thoroughly tarred and feathered. Hate crimes. How ridiculous can we truly be? To what extent must we go as a society before we finally realize how bizarre we have become? Who ever heard of a single crime against another person that was committed without hate? EVERY CRIME IS A HATE CRIME! You sure as hell can't love someone and commit a crime against them. Lunacy. Pure lunacy.
